Portfolio

Portfolio          Below is my portfolio of work I have done for Digital Media over the spring 2022 semester. I also included some stills from cinematography work I have done in the past. It was strangely sentimental looking back at all of my work I have accomplished over the past few months. I have learned a lot about how to use the adobe suite to create digital art. My skills have expanded and improved massively since I started the course. Making this portfolio in InDesign was definitely one of the hardest projects I have had to do, but it was a satisfying experience overall.

Business Cards

Card 1 Card 2 Card 3 Business Cards         These are personal business card designs used to represent myself. This was the created using InDesign based off of my personal logo. I created the personal logo in an earlier project and, as it represents myself, it is fit for a card which is supposed to represent myself professionally. The colors were chosen to compliment the logo. I attempted to create a minimalistic design which were still visually interesting. This was my first real project with InDesign and it is less intimidating than it appears. Even though I am new to InDesign and to graphic design in general, but I am satisfied with how this came out.

Somewhere Project

Image
Somewhere         In this project, I took a frame from Baby Driver and editing myself into it. I used photoshop to do so using its masking tools. Because the lighting and color grading was not a perfect replica, I edited how I looked to better match the shot. Baby Driver was chosen because I think it is a film with just generally fascinating visual and audio design, so I keep coming back to it. I also included the tag containing my logo as a 'tattoo' on my neck. Overall, I think I did a good job, even though there are some imperfections. Original Film Shot Original Image of Myself

Photoshop Homework 2

go to  https://www.instagram.com/kirbyjenner/?hl=en ; find 1 image you think it would be really hard to photoshop yourself in to, post the image and the comment on your blog  I think this image would be really hard to photoshop myself in because of its complexity. There is motion blur, multiple lighting sources, and special streaks of light which I would have to account for. 2.  go to  https://www.instagram.com/averagerob/ ;  find 1 image that inspired you or gave you an idea for the "Somewhere" project. Post the image and the comment on your blog This image inspires me for the "Somewhere" project. That is because it takes the same idea of taking some image and photoshopping yourself into it to involve yourself in the story of the picture. 3. go to  https://www.boredpanda.com/funny-photoshop-troll-james-fridman/  find 1 set of images that made you laugh, post them on your blog with your comment  This made me chuckle as it both technically followed the prompt while a

Black & White to Color

Image
Color Versions               For this assignment, I took a color image, turned it to grayscale, and then recolored it. I did this all in photoshop by masking out each of the individual elements and putting each on its own layer. By coloring each of those layers, I could give each aspect its own color. I used color.adobe.com to create the color pallets to find color choices which I enjoyed. While my masking job could be better in some areas, I am overall pleased with the results, given my relative unfamiliarity with Photoshop. Original Image

Logo Tag Brush

Image
Logo Tag               For this assignment I created a tag, as if it were spray painted, using my logo. I used photoshop to layer the assets together using masks and blending tools. I then used this to create a preset for the brush tool so that I could use it again later. In a separate file, I used this brush to create the simple art piece shown below. Photoshop Tool Tutorial Overview

Photoshop Tool Tutorial Overview How to Use the Lasso Tool to Cut Out Images In Photoshop           This video covers the lasso tool and its variants. All seem very intuitive as effectively only requires outlining an image. Although they are not always precise on the first go, it looks fairly easy to go back and make adjustments. It is very useful to mask out specific parts of an image. All forms of the tool has its own strengths and weaknesses, so the real challenge is knowing how to work around that and select the appropriate tool.  Making the Object Selection Tool Way More Precise!           This tutorial covers how to effectively use the object selection tool in photoshop. Using it requires just selecting a whole object using the tool and photoshop should get most of the way there in outlining it. You could then use the object selection tool to add or subtract to the selection by holding shift or alt, respectively, and selecting a more specific part of the image. It looks straight
