Black & White to Color

Color Versions



            For this assignment, I took a color image, turned it to grayscale, and then recolored it. I did this all in photoshop by masking out each of the individual elements and putting each on its own layer. By coloring each of those layers, I could give each aspect its own color. I used color.adobe.com to create the color pallets to find color choices which I enjoyed. While my masking job could be better in some areas, I am overall pleased with the results, given my relative unfamiliarity with Photoshop.

    These look great! I had trouble getting them all to look this neat but you certainly had no problem in doing so!

Howdy, I am Sage Boutelle and I am a film and media arts major at the University of Tampa. I am from Tampa so, as you can imagine, I did not have to go very far. I am a lover of pretentious cinema so if anyone wants to hear about niche French films I can provide that. Once, I was qualified for and planning to go to a national competition for high school journalists and filmmakers but that was back in March 2020 and the funniest thing happened.  This class looks like it is going to provide for an interesting semester. At first glance, the assignments for the course look like they will be challenging but in an engaging way.
