A Brief History of the Internet, World Wide Web, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth

  Howdy, The inception and history of the Internet, World Wide Web, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi has been a long and complicated one. While overlapping, each are distinct concepts and things. As such, both their shared and individual history are worth discussing. The internet is a means of connecting computers and networks from across the globe in order to communicate with each other. This communication between networks allows for all manners of activities which form the usage of the internet. While the development of the internet was the result of the labor of many different people, the creation of the internet is generally credited to Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn in 1974. The initial purpose of the development of the internet was to be able to connect research networks together to streamline processes across the United States and Europe. Howdy, I am Sage Boutelle and I am a film and media arts major at the University of Tampa. I am from Tampa so, as you can imagine, I did not have to go very far. I am a lover of pretentious cinema so if anyone wants to hear about niche French films I can provide that. Once, I was qualified for and planning to go to a national competition for high school journalists and filmmakers but that was back in March 2020 and the funniest thing happened.  This class looks like it is going to provide for an interesting semester. At first glance, the assignments for the course look like they will be challenging but in an engaging way. Through this course, I hope to become more familiar with the Adobe software suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator as my experiences with them thus far have not been pleasant. I am looking forward to working with and learning from Professor Roundtree and hope that this will be an excellent semester. That is all, Sage Boutelle
